I've been wanting to make wearables for a while now and finally got the inspiration to add Chibitronics sticker lights to my needle felting projects.
For this first project, the sticker lights were used as the eyes of a cat figure. The exposed sticker lights and wool really show off the beauty of electronics in its raw form.
My second idea came from my daughter's desire to be a superhero this Halloween. Playing off of Captain America's shield, I made a girly version to be used as her superhero badge. This time, I hid the lights underneath the felted star to let the lights glow through the wool.
As you can see from the example below, the lights were sewn on using a conductive thread and creating a positive and negative connection inside the pouch of the coin battery holder. I really enjoy making these as needle felting is very flexible and forgiving. This helps make it easy to integrate the circuits and hide the sewn parts.
